While working my day job running a service company, I received a phone message that didn’t seem like a big deal at first. Names and numbers have been changed:
“Hey Jim, this is Bill from the lawn company. I’m here in Stony Point with a couple of very important customers of mine, the Does, and they wanted to get some work done before the 10th. I know it is out of the way and short notice, but do me a favor and call them either way. Mrs. Doe’s cell number is 1 and Mr. Doe’s is 2. Both are expecting your call.”
In retrospect, this was an absolutely ideal referral. Why?
